June 28, 1952-April 4, 2024
The Lord put Bruce W. LaRock to rest at home on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Bruce’s life journey began on June 28, 1952, born to his parents Erwin Joseph and Bernadette Loretta LaRock in Flint, Michigan.
Bruce and Deborah Gunyan were married on Aug. 14, 2004. They joined their families into one with a love like no other.
Bruce was a one of a kind Michigan outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing to his core. He waited all winter for the ice to be just thick enough. Before winter’s end, he was already talking about the morels and sheds that he was sure to find.
Survivors of Bruce’s extraordinary family include his wife — Deborah; six children — Harold LaRock, Erich Gebhard, Andy Dazell, Dawn Gebhard, Steven Wood and Brandy (Danny) Mather. Other survivors include fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, special ones Jackie Dazell and Kathy Wright. Surviving siblings include brothers Erwin (Kathy) LaRock, Frances (Susan) LaRock; sisters — LaVonne “Bonnie” Walter, Sylvia Chapman, Jeanette Kaufmann and Audrey White. A multitude of nieces and nephews, who held a special bond with their Uncle Bruce also survive.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers — Junior, Milton, Gerald, Roger and Leyland “Lee” LaRock; and sisters — Betty LaRock, Naomi Larocque and Donna Dale.
