BERRIEN COUNTY — A new candidate is in the running for the title of Berrien County Treasurer.

Stevensville resident and Coloma alumnus Margret Fife recently filed to seek the Republican nomination for Berrien County Treasurer. 

Fife, a WIC dietician for the Berrien County Health Department, is seeking her first term as Treasurer and will appear on the ballot in the Republican Primary on August 6.

While checking taxes for a family member, Fife noticed that the foreclosure date on the treasurer’s website was listed as March 31 when it was actually April 1 and that if elected, she will ensure accurate information is always posted. She also added that she would be available after hours and on weekends and would aim to open a treasurer’s office in south county.
