Dowagiac Union Schools to interview superintendent candidates March 12-13

DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac Union Schools Board of Education continues to move forward with the process of selecting a new superintendent.
During a special Thursday meeting, the Board of Education voted to extend invitations to four candidates to interview for the position of Superintendent. Sixteen educators applied for the position, which is available due to the impending retirement of Superintendent Jonathan Whan at the end of the school year.
Interviews are scheduled on March 12 and March 13 and will be held at Dowagiac City Hall, 241 S. Front Street, Dowagiac. Interviews are open to the public and all interested persons are encouraged to attend.
Dowagiac interview schedule:
March 12
5:30 p.m. – Brandon Waggoner, Director of Curriculum at Watervliet Public Schools
7 p.m. – Dr. Daniel Hyliard, 10th-12th Grade Class Principal at Ann Arbor High School
March 13
5:30 p.m. – Ryan Williamson, Principal at South Haven High School
7 p.m. – Greg Blomgren, Principal at St. Joseph High School
The Board anticipates the new superintendent will begin duties on July 1. The process has been facilitated by the Michigan Leadership Institute.
