Norma Rose Coquillard died peacefully on Jan. 20, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Norma is survived by her sons, Joseph Alan Boyd, Daniel Richard (Elaine Peterson) Boyd and George Edward (Linda) Boyd.
Norma was preceded in death by her son, David Frank Boyd; husband, William Bernard Coquillard and brother Donald Ramer.
She was loved by all her grandchildren, Joshua Richard Britton Boyd, Jacob Alan (Jasmine Barnette, Fiancé) Boyd, Mackenzie Peterson Boyd, Ryan Peterson Boyd, Ashleigh Boyd Wike and Joseph Boyd.
Norma’s life began on June 19, 1930, in Niles, Michigan and was the daughter of Anna Irene
and Richard Ramer. Norma grew up on the family farm, Ramer’s Eggery, with her brother
Donald. She married and raised four sons. For many years Norma worked at the Simplicity
Pattern Company. Norma has been a lifetime resident of Niles and enjoyed wintering in Florida
with her husband, William Coquillard (deceased).
Norma was a faithful parishioner of Saint Mark Catholic Church in Niles, Michigan. She enjoyed
reading books and being in her garden, tending to the flowers. She also loved her family and
enjoyed spending time visiting with them. At the end of her life, she was well cared for by her
daughter-in-law, Linda Boyd, and the special care team of Hospice of Southwestern Michigan,
especially Tammy Cox the RN.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the
Hospice of Southwestern Michigan.
A Graveside Service for Norma will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at 2:15 p.m., at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 W Cleveland Rd. Granger, IN 46545.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
