Brandywine’s Rieth, Schoff win titles at Quincy

QUINCY — The Brandywine boys wrestling team finished third out of 17 teams at the Shawn Cockrell Invitational hosted by Quincy Saturday.
Kaiden Rieth and Gavin Schoff brought home championships and were named the Most Valuable Wrestlers of the Day.
Rieth defeated No. 1 seed David Fielder, of Hanover-Horton, 11-9 in overtime to win the 126-pound championship. Rieth was down four points with 10 seconds remaining, but was able to tie the score and send the match to sudden-victory.
Schoff blanked Homer’s Jacob Fisher 14-0 to claim the 165-pound title.
Also placing for the Bobcats were Kaden Santana, who finished third at 132, Josh Patrolia, who finished second at 175 and Andrew McKee, who finished fourth at 285.
