POKAGON TOWNSHIP — A Niles man was injured Monday when he lost control of his snowmobile and crashed in Pokagon Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that his deputies were sent out to a single snowmobile crash located near the intersection of Indian Lake and Frost Street in Pokagon Township. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the injured driver, Chandler Plow, 26, of Niles. Plow was operating a snowmobile southbound on the trails near Indian Lake and Frost Street when he lost control of the snowmobile and it overturned, landing on top of him. Plow was transferred to South Bend Memorial Hospital for his non-life-threatening injuries.
Plow was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
Assisting at the scene was SMCAS and Indian Lake Fire Department.
