DOWAGIAC — Sophomore Jordan Simpson, of Dowagiac, has been named the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Wrestler of the Week.

Simpson, 21-5, is the fourth Roadrunner to earn the honor this season. Also being named Wrestler of the Week were Hunter Heath (Niles/Brandywine), Shane Edwards (XXX) and Nathan Andrina (Edwardsburg).

Simpson, who wrestles at 125 pounds, has gone undefeated at three different tournaments, including the MCCAA Duals in December.

The Roadrunners will try to defend their MCCAA championship at the individual meet Jan. 28 in Port Huron. Southwestern Michigan will then head to Palatine, Illinois for the Great Lakes District Tournament, which is an National Junior College Athletic Association national qualifying tournament.
