Lake Michigan edges Oakland Community College 67-66

OAKLAND — Visiting Lake Michigan College built a five-point halftime lead and then held off a second-half challenge to edge Oakland Community College 67-66 Saturday.
The Red Hawks (5-7) led 34-29 after the first 20 minutes of their Michigan Community College Athletic association non-divisional men’s basketball game.
Oakland tried to make a second-half comeback as it outscored Lake Michigan 37-33, but came up a point short.
Kaden Davis led the Red Hawks with 23 points, while Zahyem Bradwell added 15 points and nine rebounds. Michael Durr added 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Red Hawks shot 45.5 percent from the field (25-of-55) and were 82.4 percent (14-of-17) from the free throw line.
Oakland shot 38 percent (24-of-63) from the floor, but were just 15-of-25 (60 percent) from the charity stripe.
Lake Michigan College is back on the court Saturday as it travels to Oshtemo to face Kalamazoo Valley Community College in its MCCAA Western Conference opener.
