No. 10 Brandywine edges No. 4 Blissfield at Hardwood Classic

ROMULUS — A pair of Division 3 top 10 girls basketball teams squared off in the Michigan Hardwood Classic in Romulus on Wednesday night.
The No. 10-ranked Brandywine Bobcats rallied from a 27-24 halftime deficit to defeat No. 4-ranked Blissfield 45-43 to remain undefeated on the season.
The Bobcats led 13-8 after one quarter, but Blissfield outscored Brandywine 19-11 in the second quarter to take the three-point halftime advantage.
The back-and-forth game continued in the second half with the Bobcats holding the 13-8 advantage in the scoring column to take a 37-35 lead into the final eight minutes of action.
Brandywine (4-0) was able to maintain that two-point advantage when the buzzer sounded at the end of the game as both squads scored eight points in the fourth quarter.
Ellie Knapp led the Bobcats with 15 points, while Kadence Brumitt added 10 points and Adeline Gill nine points. Adelyn Drotos finished with six.
Avery Collins had a game-high 20 points to lead Blissfield. She was the only player to reach double figures for the Royals, who drop to 3-1 on the year.
Brandywine is back in action Tuesday when it hosts Hart in a non-conference game.
