BENTON HARBOR — OutCenter’s annual PrideFest is going on tour next year.
PrideFest is a community celebration of LGBTQ+ pride that features food, music, live entertainment, artists, games and more. In 2024, PrideFest will take place over three weekends, from 4 to 8 p.m., in three different towns across Southwest Michigan.
The first Cass County PrideFest will be on June 8 at the Dowagiac Library Pavilion.
The second annual Michiana PrideFest will be on June 15 at Niles’ Riverfront Park.
The third annual Twin Cities PrideFest will be on June 22 at Benton Harbor’s Dwight P. Mitchell Park on Main Street.
“PrideFest is all about community. It’s about bringing LGBTQ+ people, families, and allies together in a fun and uplifting environment. It’s a celebration of the incredible progress that has been made and a time to unify as we push towards greater equity. The DNA of Southwest Michigan is deeply ingrained in these events. We embrace our community’s local festival culture because Pride events deserve to be a part of that culture – they belong here, just like how queer people have always been here and belong here,” said Gerik Nasstrom, Program Director and Event Coordinator.
