Chris Orlo Fox, 73, of Marcellus, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, in the comfort of his family’s presence.
His life began Aug. 11, 1950, in Dowagiac, Michigan, the fourth of five children born to Orlo and Dorothy Fox.
Chris lived and grew up in Volinia where he attended a one-room school house until high school in Marcellus. He worked on neighboring farms, mostly with livestock, and had his own lawn service at age twelve. Chris was a craftsman and skilled woodworker who loved building and creating. Aside from that, he was a successful real estate agent, data technician with the local phone company, president of the union, IBEW, a deputy for DNR, and a long-standing member of MNRC. Chris loved playing cards, playing with his grandchildren, and watching the Lions and Tigers, but no Bears. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. He coached baseball for the Marcellus Wildcats and was a strong supporter of Dowagiac athletics.
Chris will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of
twenty-eight years and soulmate, Dianne Fox; daughter, Sarah (Brent) Peterson; son, Christopher Fox; granddaughter, Olivia Peterson, grandson, Maxwell Peterson; brother, Kim (Linda) Fox; sister-in-law, Jennie Fox; brothers-in-law, Bill Hartman, Bruce Jenkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sisters, Carol Hartman and Sue Jenkins; and brother, Joel Fox.
Family and friends will gather from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, in the Dowagiac Elks Lodge, 300 Riverside Drive, Dowagiac, Michigan 49047.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Chris be made to the Alzheimer’s Association,
