Local Christmas tree farms open for business

SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — With Christmas Eve just one month away, local tree farms are ready to provide community members with the perfect trees to enhance their holiday experience.
Dairy Barn Tree Farm, 3460 W. Chicago Rd., Niles
Dairy Barn Tree Farm is open for business from 9 a.m. to sunset Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Celebrating more than 25 years of growing trees, Dairy Barn features U-cut, pre-cut and live potted tree options. Dairy Barn also provides tree shaking, drilling and baling services.
Tree prices are based on the variety of tree, not by size. Large trees are limited and will go fast:
Douglas Fir sizes 4 to 7 feet – $35
Canaan Fir sizes 4 to 10 feet – $55
Blue Spruce sizes 4 to 9 feet – $55
Pre-cut Douglas Fir sizes 6 to 8 feet – $65
Live potted White Pine sizes 3 to 5 feet, $80 to $120
In addition to trees, Dairy Barn also features a variety of wreath options. It also has a gift shop made up entirely of homemade crafts including holiday signs, ornaments, door decor, sweatshirts, mugs, swags, charcuterie boards and more.
Butler Tree Farm, 21515 Crane St., Dowagiac
Butler Tree Farm is open for business from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 17.
Visitors can choose from several different types of trees and can cut their own trees or pick from a selection of pre-cut trees. Santa will be visiting Butler Tree Farm from noon to 4 p.m. November 24-26 and Dec. 2-3.
Schrader Tree Farm, 65770 Conrad Rd., Edwardsburg
According to Facebook, Schrader Tree Farm is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and Wednesday. For the 2023 Christmas season, Schrader Tree Farm will offer a nice selection of Christmas trees ranging from 6 to 10-feet tall, including Fraser, Scotch Pine, White Pine, Balsam and Canaan at prices $45 and up. The business also produces handmade custom wreaths as well as porch pots and unique ornaments available in its gift shop.
Whispering Pines Christmas Tree Farm, 6076 Deans Hill Rd., Berrien Center
