DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac Middle School Performing Arts Center was filled with the community while the MMC Dance Team presented their first holiday show, ‘A Hometown Christmas.’
Admission was free however the team requested donations of non-perishable food items. Our Mistress of ceremonies, Ravan Bakeman took our guests on a virtual tour of our Grand Ole City. The Team was joined by studio Dancers from Miss Michele & Co, Dowagiac High School Combined Choirs, Positively Dance, Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Tribal Dancers and Drummers, Justus Gage Elementary Students, with videos sent in from Jacki Winchester-Jones and the Grand Valley State University Dance Team, Juliana Stanger of Ball State, and The SMC Ladybirds Dance Team.
The support was overwhelming and the team was able to collect over 1000 items of food to be donated to Action Ministries and The Roadrunner Pantry at Southwestern Michigan College. This performance was made possible by the MMC Dance Team Board, Christmas Committee as well as contributors including the Michigan Gateway Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council, Lyons Industries, Honor Credit Union, Miss Michele & Co., Walmart, Joeand Laura Odenwald, United Federal Credit Union and Deck the Halls.
