Dan VandenHeede is running on the Democratic ticket for State Representative, 78th District.
To say that Dan is civic-minded is to state the obvious; he is much more. His vision for tangible change within the state is driven and supported by his experience in public education, local and state governance, environmental concerns, and his firm belief in people.
Dan taught civics, government and peace studies at Dowagiac Union High School for 25 years. Beyond the classroom, he coached cross country and track, and blended his teaching with local civic concerns. He started groups focused on sustainability, gardening and peace studies. Now retired, Dan’s main focus is the empowerment of citizens to be active participants in government. As a member of the Niles City Council, Dan has served on the City of Niles Parks and Airport Boards and chairs the Council Ordinance Committee.
Dan believes in empowering citizens and focusing government on people and their needs, rather than having business and bureaucrats run Lansing.
Dan is an activist for education.
Dan is civic-minded.
Dan is actively involved in improving the environment.
Dan believes people are the driving force of government.
Your vote for Dan VandenHeede is a vote for southwest Michigan.
