UPDATED: Police seeking suspect in robbery at Stone Lake Marathon station

Update: After further investigation, it was found that some of the information regarding the robbery at the Stone Lake Marathon was not accurate, according to police chief Brian LaValle. There was not a robbery last night, and the case will be closed, he said.

CASSOPOLIS — The Cassopolis Police Department is seeking help locating the suspect of a robbery at a Cassopolis gas station.

At 10:44 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the Stone Lake Marathon for a reported robbery. Information gathered at the scene indicates that the victim was at the gas pumps, when a lone male, of an unknown race, came up behind him and forced him against his vehicle and removed his wallet.

The suspect was described as an older man wearing a ski mask, black jacket, black jeans and green tennis shoes. The suspect got into a grey SUV and left the area.
