Jonathan Leach is a senior on the Cassopolis track team.
Activities: Football, FFA, track, robotics, Legacy 4-H, One16 youth group, mission trips, volunteer for Backpack Ministry and OCC.
Hobbies: Swimming, lifting, raising 4-H animals, four-wheeling.
My favorite track memory: Junior year regional track meet, we were all hanging out at the tent, playing music and just enjoying life together.
Future plans: Will finish up at Southwest Michigan College then transfer to Western Michigan University for a degree in engineering with emphasis in robotics.
Awards/Accomplishments: SW10 All-Conference 300M hurdles, Award of Distinction Scholarship from SMC, four-year honor student, National Honor Society, FFA Chapter officer, 4-H Legacy Club officer, Cass County Medal Winner Achievement and Community Service and Nationally Accredited Parliamentarian.
Advice to underclassmen: You may not be great at an event your coach places you in your first year, but with hard work and practice, you can excel and by senior year, you can be a star.
How have you been making the best of being quarantined? Continuing my SMC classes on line and high school class. Also, helping with our home projects that my parents are finally doing. Cleaning out our pool when the weather was great. Just staying active as much as possible.
