Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Megan Schmidt is a senior on the Brandywine tennis team.

Activities: Tennis, basketball, volleyball; Berrien RESA Math and Science Center.

Hobbies: Reading, doing puzzles and running.

My favorite tennis memory: My favorite tennis memory was destroying Michael Robbins at laser tag with Kimberly Solloway and our foreign exchange student, Laia “Pi” Puertolas, and being able to finish in the top 10 as a team at the state tournament last year.

Future plans: I plan to attend New York University to study computational biology and global public health.

Awards/Accomplishments: Honorable mention All-State for tennis; first team All-Conference for basketball and volleyball; Academic All-State for volleyball; National Honor Society; Spanish Honor Society; valedictorian; BCS Conference Academic Scholar Award; 2020 Outstanding Senior Student-Athlete Award.

Advice to underclassmen: My advice to the underclassmen would be to never give up. No matter how down you think you are or how impossible you think coming back might be, you always have the ability to overcome any challenge. Play every point to the best of your ability, work hard and enjoy every second you can while on a tennis court.

How have your been making the best of being quarantined?: To keep myself occupied, I have been babysitting my baby cousin, doing schoolwork, reading a lot of books and doing puzzles.
