Berrien, Cass County commissioners hosting teleconference meetings

SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — Because of concerns over COVID-19, the social distancing ordered by Governor Whitmer and in compliance with executive order EO-2020-15, the Cass County Board of Commissioners is hosting its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday by the use of teleconferencing. 

Any member of the public who wishes to listen to the meeting may do so by calling (844) 474-0925, and when prompted put in the following access code:  65035642.  Anyone with a disability needing accommodations to listen to this meeting should contact Carol Bealor at (574) 292-0331 or carolb@cassco.org prior to the meeting. 

Public comments are being accepted by email before the meeting at comments@cassco.org.  Public comments will also be accepted during the public comment sections of the meeting while it is in session.  Comments must be submitted with a resident’s full name.

All requirements of the Open Meetings Act shall be followed, according to Cass County officials.

Additionally, Berrien County commissioners will host a virtual meeting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The public may access this meeting by going to YouTube and searching for Berrien County, Michigan.

The seal of Berrien County will show up, and this is how to tell if they have the official channel Berrien County. Once the meeting goes live, visitors to YouTube will be able to watch the live transmission of the board of commissioners meeting. In order to participate in the public comments portion of the meeting, the public can sign up on the channel, and then they can voice their comments in the chat area, following the rules provided by the board of commissioners’ bylaws in stating their full name and their municipality.
