NIles’ Nichols, Gilcrese earn All-West honors

NILES — Demarian Nichols was the lone Niles player to earn first-team SMAC All-West Division in boys basketball.

Portage Central dominated the squad with four first-team picks, while Lakeshore and Portage Northern were second with three each.

Niles’ Mike Gilcrese was an honorable mention selection.

The All-West Division team was selected on a vote by the coaches.
