Rangers clinch share of crown

MENDON — With a 58-49 win over host Mendon Tuesday night, the Cassopolis boys basketball team earned a share of the Southwest 10 Conference championship.
The Rangers and Bulldogs both finished conference play at 15-3. The Rangers are 15-5 heading into the postseason on Monday against district host Bridgman.
Against the Hornets, Cassopolis jumped out to an 18-12 lead after one quarter, which it stretched to 36-22 by halftime.
The Rangers led 51-37 heading into the fourth quarter, Mendon outscored Cassopolis 12-8 in the final eight minutes to make the final score a bit more respectable.
Darrion Gatson scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Rangers, who also got 15 points from R.J. Drews and 11 points from Daishean Jamison.
Dahnte Bailey led the Hornets (2-17, 2-16 Southwest 10) with 16 points.
