Dowagiac to face No. 1 Dundee in state quarterfinals

EAST LANSING — The Dowagiac wrestling will have its work cut out for it when it competes in the Division 3 state quarterfinals at Wing Stadium in Kalamazoo on Friday.

The Chieftains, seeded eighth, will have to take on top-seeded Dundee in the opening round, which is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Dundee has won back-to-back state championships and five out of the last seven titles. Richmond has won five state championships since 2010.

Lowell will be going for its seventh consecutive Division 2 state championship.

In Division 1, Detroit Catholic Central will be seeking its fourth straight title and sixth since 2012.

Hudson has won three consecutive state titles in Division 4, and eight since 2009. New Lothrop won three straight championships from 2014 to 2016.
