NILES — The Brandywine Middle/Senior High School gymnasium was a swathe of orange, yellow and red Tuesday night.

Dozens of students, guided by the traveling performing arts group. The Young Americans, hosted a performance for friends and family.

The event was a culmination of three days of practice with the Young Americans’ young adults, who spent hours with students each day to teach them dancing, singing and acting routines.

The nonprofit group travels across the country to help build confidence in students from elementary age to near-adults.
