DOWAGIAC — To prepare for the day of love, The Baker’s Rhapsody in Dowagiac has been taken over by shades of red and pink. In the days leading up to Valentine’s Day, bakers and decorators have been hard at work preparing cookies, cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and more, which are for sale at the downtown bakery, 144 S. Front St., in Dowagiac.

Decorated cookie packs feature sayings like “we go together like mac’ and cheese” with cheese and macaroni shaped cookies. Cookie cards feature puns like ice cream shaped cookies with cards that say, “you make me melt.”

Cookie decorating kits and paintable cookies are also available for an interactive baking experience.
