Sue Ann Pompey, 77, of Marcellus, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, surrounded by her family at home.

She was born in Nicholsville, Michigan on July 25, 1942, the daughter of Leo Robert and Katharyn Jane (Wright) Bradley. On Feb. 16, 1959, in Cassopolis, she married Earl Joseph Pompey, Jr., who preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2007.

Sue was a forklift driver, working for many years at Welches in Paw Paw, Michigan.

She enjoyed knitting-making all of her family blankets, sewing and quilting, gardening, especially loved roses. She liked to get out and go to the casino and had a talent for remembering birthdates of family and friends. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sue is survived by one daughter, Katharyn Pompey, of Marcellus; one son, Wendell (Sandra) Pompey ,of Marcellus; eight grandchildren, Katarina Pompey, Michael Pompey, Rodney Pompey, Marcus Pompey, Craig Haines, Jr., Howard Haines, Meisha Haines LaCrava Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee LaNore, Izsabella Pompey, Adalyn Pompey; three siblings, Debra Carter, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Stephen Bradley, of Three Rivers, Michigan, Linda (David) Underwood, both of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Earl Pompey, Jr.; one son, Craig Haines; one brother-in-law, Reginald Carter; parents, Leo and Katharyn Bradley.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, 52780 M-40 N., Marcellus. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Family to offset expenses.
