Crystal Lynn ‘Chris’ Ianello, 72, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born April 23, 1947, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Lloyd and Bonnie (Shippy) Fuller, and lived in Michiana most of her life.

Chris is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 54 years, Daniel (Danny) A. Ianello. They have two sons, Dan (Julie) Ianello, of Edwardsburg, and Tony (Barbara) Ianello, of Elkhart. There are six grandchildren: Courtney, Daniel, Allison, Ashley, Katie and Zoe. Chris’ grandchildren were the joy of her life as she doted on each of them. Chris is also survived by two sisters, Deborah Meyers, of Dowagiac, and Jonie Elmore, of Florida.

Chris was a graduate of Cassopolis High School and Sisters Lakes Beauty Academy. Chris was an avid entrepreneur having started two beauty salons, The Hair Hut in Cassopolis and Adam and Eve’s in Edwardsburg. She later started a laundromat, The Laundry Hut in Niles and then a fitness center, Body & Health Unlimited in Cassopolis. In her later years, she became a realtor and a broker closing out her working years at Century 21 in Edwardsburg and Granger. In retirement, Chris spent her time loving on the grandchildren, gardening and painting. Ever the entrepreneur, in the winter months Danny and her enjoyed spending time in Florida refurbishing homes.

Family and friends gathered from 6 to 8 p.m.  on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St., Edwardsburg. There was a vigil at 8 p.m. conducted by Father Albert Kemboi. The family will have another private service at a later date.
