Valentine’s Day can be rough for many. Romantic love can be fickle, and seeing it all around in the form of pink hearts and chocolate-covered strawberries can leave some feeling left out in the cold.

However, there is one type of love that is unconditional and always open, and we at Leader Publications want to celebrate it this season. Of course, I am talking about the love of a beloved pet.

This year, we want you to spend Valentine’s Day with your most loyal companion, and we hope you will share your love for your furry valentine with us.

We are hosting a Love Your Pet photo contest, and we want you to share with us a favorite photo of your pet to have a chance to win a prize and to see their face in one of our magazines. Keep an eye out this week on Leader Publications’ social media pages for the contest post, which will contain information on how to enter. Just comment below the post with a photo of your pet valentine, in addition to their name, age and city of residence, and your pet will have a chance to be featured in an upcoming edition of Michiana Life!

The deadline to submit your photos is Feb. 14. After that, the images will be put up for a vote on the Michiana Life Facebook page, where followers will choose their favorite furry friend. The winner of the vote will receive a prize of gift cards to local establishments. Winners will be contacted via Facebook.

Maybe your pet doesn’t have fur. Perhaps you have a beloved parrot or a slithering snake or a particularly friendly fish. We want those photos, too! From hamsters to horses, we want your photos and can’t wait for you to share them with us.

So, get your cameras ready and get those pets posing like the stars they are — Valentine’s is just around the corner.
