BENTON HARBOR — The Dowagiac girls basketball team dropped to 0-3 on the season following a 56-43 non-conference setback at Benton Harbor Tuesday night.
There was good news for the Chieftains, as they scored the most points so far this season. Dowagiac had just 17 points in a loss to Paw Paw last Friday night.
“We played hard,” said first-year Dowagiac coach Jason Turner. “We just have to continue to work on the little things. Free throws and missed layups hurt us tonight.”
Allie Conner scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Chieftains, who also got 12 points from Hayden First and six points from Madison Potter.
Dowagiac hosts Otsego at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
