EAU CLAIRE — The Dowagiac golf team tuned up today Thursday’s Wolverine Conference jamboree at Sauganash in Three Rivers by hosting Michigan Lutheran in a non-league match at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course Wednesday.

Led by medalist Rebecca Franklin, the Chieftains defeated the Titans 188-253. Franklin shot 42.

Dowagiac also got a 45 from Greta Whitaker and a 48 from Calley Ruff. It was the first time Ruff has shot under 48.

The Chieftains take a one-point lead over Sturgis into Thursday’s jamboree. Play is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
