Timothy Joseph Kenny, 69, of Niles, passed away after an extended illness in the Chalet of Niles.

Tim was born on Oct. 7, 1949, in Niles, to the late John F. and Isabel (Carey) Kenny.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Brian Kenny.

Tim is survived by his brother, John F. (Patricia) Kenny, Jr., of Sunfield, Michigan; his niece, Amber (Joseph) Hinojosa; grandnieces and nephews, Killian Burcham, Tyler Burcham, Sofia Baker and Alex Hinojosa.

Tim was an adjunct professor of sociology who taught at several colleges in the area including the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. Tim also enjoyed swimming and loved studying history.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. Friends and family may visit from 10 to 11 a.m.  at the church.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
