ST. JOSEPH — Registration is now open for the 2019 Fit 4 Fall 5K Run/Walk to be at Riverview Park Oct. 12.

the Fit 4 Fall 5K is a charity race that raises money for three non-profit organizations — Caring Circle, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the LOGAN Autism Learning Center of Southwest Michigan.

The race, which is scheduled to being at 9 a.m., is presented by LECO Corporation and Starks Family Funeral Homes.

“These three organizations have been selected by LECO and the Warren family for the last several years because of the positive impact they are making on our employees as well the rest of the community,” said Veronica Jackson, race co-director and technical communications manager at LECO. “We have enjoyed working with each of these non-profits over the years and are honored to continue raising funds on their behalf.”

“Last year’s race was a great success,” said Maria Hutchins, race co-director. “With support from over 530 registered racers, over 50 volunteers, and nearly 100 local sponsors and donors, we were able to raise $18,000 for these three organizations.”

A silent auction will also take place with items donated from local businesses available for bid. Awards will be handed out for top overall runner and walker, as well as first-, second- and third- place in each age category.

Through Aug. 31, early registration fees are $25 for adults and $15 for youth ages 14 and under. After that date, sign-up fees increase to $30 for adults and $20 for youth.

This year’s price now includes the online processing fee for credit card transactions so you will not incur an additional charge. Also, new this year, the race is offering a $5 discount per registrant for groups of four or more.
