Lorane Hall-Rodriquez, of Niles

Lorane Hall, 72, of Niles, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 1, 2019, with her family by her side.
Lorane was born on June 25, 1946, to the late Robert and Betty (Collins) Smith in Dowagiac. Lorane attended Dowagiac Union High School and in September of 1965, she wed Ismael Rodriquez Feliciano at a ceremony in Niles.
Lorane was a caregiver by nature which led her to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years at Sisters of Holy Cross. When her health prevented her from working she continued her caregiver role and poured her heart into her friends and family. She loved cooking with her husband, Ismael, and having big cookouts for her family, playing cards into all hours of the night with her brother, and shopping at wally world where she would buy something for everyone else in her life other than herself. Lorane was a selfless woman who was loved by everyone she met and will be missed most by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son she lost at birth; daughter, Kay; and siblings, Robert Smith, Mary Minks, Jerry Westbrook, and Jim Minks.
Lorane is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ismael Rodriquez Feliciano; children, Laura Hall, of Buchanan, Sam (Dawn) Rodriquez, of Niles, Anita (Steve) Boley, of Niles, Tony (Heather) Rodriquez, of Willow Springs, North Carolina, Maria (Rex) Frazier, of Niles, and Ismael Rodriquez, of Nashville, Tennessee; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Laverta Minks, of Farmington, Missouri; and many extended family members and close friends.
Funeral services to honor Lorane’s life will be at 11 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles. Chaplain Ellen Laan will be officiating. Lorane will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
