DECATUR TOWNSHIP — A Dowagiac man was killed in a semi accident Friday, according to Michigan State Police.

The accident occurred around 1:20 p.m. Friday near M-51 and 45th Street in Decatur Township, near Paw Paw. According to initial reports, a Chevy pickup truck and a semi got into head-on collision. The pickup truck driver, Brandon McIntyre, 29, of Dowagiac, was killed in the collision.

The semi driver sustained nonlife-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Troopers at the scene were assisted by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, Decatur Hamilton Fire Department, Trues Towing, and the Decatur Police Department.
