Calvin and Shirley (Brenneman) Bontrager, of Dowagiac, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their wedding on June 14. They were married on June 14, 1949, at Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury, Indiana.

Calvin has worked as a truck driver for more than 30 years. Shirl manages the kitchen at Michiana Christian Camp during the summer and is a retired music teacher. The couple enjoys spending time with family, being involved with their church and traveling.

Calvin and Shirley will celebrate their anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. June 9 at J. Weaver Barn, 14229 CR 34 in Goshen.

Their four children, Eric (Sheryl) Bontrager, Lori Bontrager, Rita (Rory) Phillips and Krista (Lyndon) Bontrager, are hosting the celebration.

Their grandchildren are Jonny, Mason, Emma, Karis, Jeremy, Lanie, Meredith and Penelope.
