NILES — Five Niles Wrestling Club members competed last week in the NUWAY Midwest Challenge.

The wrestlers fared well with Mikey Robles going 6-0, five via pins and one technical fall, bringing home a championship.

Robles was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Wrestler out of the 35 teams that competed.

“Mikey Robles, an incoming freshman, wrestled in the high school team division,” said Niles wrestling coach Todd Hesson. “Mikey did a good job, beat two high school state qualifiers on the day.”

Garret Clendenin went 6-3 and placed third at the tournament, while Connor Pickens was 2-2 and finished fourth.

Chase Andrew was also 2-2 to finish fourth. Darrian Sosa also placed fourth.
