Mallory Dohm is a junior on the Dowagiac team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
MD: Defeating Edwardsburg.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
MD: Allowing a team to change how I play.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
MD: My dad. He always pushing me to the best of my ability in everything I do.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
MD: When I’m one on one with a player bringing the ball down.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
MD: When I went to take a throw-in and I dropped the ball on my head.
How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?
MD: I weight train at the gym and run.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
MD: Volleyball.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
MD: They allow you to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people.
How would you give away $50,000?
MD: I would give it to families in need.
If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?
MD: A girls soccer team.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
MD: Be more involved in 4H.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
MD: To keep pushing even if I’m constantly getting beat.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
MD: I would get rid of yellow and red cards.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
MD: That I played very well in our Edwardsburg game.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
MD: Help in the case of a car accident. Yes
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
MD: Someone paying for someone else’s meal.
