DOWAGIAC — During a board of trustees meeting May 20, Southwestern Michigan College Trustee Dr. Elaine Foster presented a 10-year service pin to Colleen Welsch, director of library services.

Welsch, of Granger, said she fell in love with library work during four years at the Harris Branch Library in Granger. She earned a master’s degree in library science from Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis and a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University South Bend. She also oversees the Roadrunner Kitchen food pantry as co-advisor of Phi Theta Kappa, one of five community college honor societies at SMC.
