PLAINWELL — Someone other Edwardsburg finally won a Wolverine Conference golf jamboree.
The Eddies’ 12-match winning streak came to an end Tuesday at the hands of Allegan at the Sturgis jamboree at Klinger Lake Golf Club.
Edwardsburg had extended its record-setting streak to 12 earlier in the day at Sauganash in Three Rivers.
The conference played back-to-back doubleheaders Tuesday and Wednesday in order to make up some of the matches that were rained out the last two weeks.
Three Rivers and Sturgis hosted jamborees on Tuesday, while Plainwell and Otsego, who share Lake Doster as their home course, play 18 holes using both the front and back nines.
The Eddies shot 163 at Sauganash to easily outdistance runner-up Allegan, which shot 178.
Dowagiac finished fifth with a 189.
In the afternoon, Allegan snapped the Edwardsburg winning streak by shooting 173 at Klinger Lake, three strokes better than the Eddies’ 176.
The Chieftains finished fourth with a 185.
No individual scoring was available at press time.
