DOWAGIAC — On April 11, Ascension Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital hosted its annual volunteer appreciation luncheon in honor of National Volunteer Week.

Volunteers donated 33,249.75 hours of service to the hospital during the 2018 calendar year. Hours were accumulated volunteering in the surgery/SCU waiting room, registration, oncology department, emergency department and patient room visitation, ordering for and managing the gift shop and bake sales.

The six top volunteer hour contributors were:

• Terri Moore, 407.25 hours

• Bernie Laymon, 329.25 hours

• Marge Kirsch, 218.75 hours

• Ann Biek, 210.5 hours

• Peggy Barkes, 189.5 hours

• Ada Springsteen, 177.75 hours
