VICKSBURG — Defending conference golf champion Edwardsburg picked up right where it left off last year as the Eddies won the first jamboree of the 2019 season Tuesday.

Edwardsburg shot 164 to easily outdistance runner-up Paw Paw, which finished with a 188 at Angel’s Crossing.

Dowagiac finished sixth with a score of 197. The Chieftains were without regular starter Drew Davis, who has a hand injury.

The Eddies’ Satchel Pierce took medalist honors as he shot 36.

Allegan’s Remi Franklin, who battled with Pierce for league medalist honors last season, was second with a 40. Edwardsburg’s Garon Carrubba tied with Vicksburg’s Taylor Harvey for third with a 41.

The teams were back in action Wednesday as they traveled to Paw Paw to play its next league jamboree at Heritage Glen.
