DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac Middle School wrestling team wrapped up its season at Watervliet on Friday.

The Chieftains ended their season on a good note, said coach Andy Crawley.

Bringing home gold medals were Jerome Haines, Taven Livingston and Colin Gerner. Finishing second were D.J. Rimpson, Jorge Rivera, Nicholas Green, Shane Bennett, Dustin Sirk, Zach Getting, Braqsten Whitaker and Malakai Haines.

“We had a good season with all the cancellations because of weather,” Crawley said. “The wrestlers continued to work hard and get better. That is all we asked of them all season — to enjoy the sport and improve. We would like to thank the parents for letting us work with their children and for helping with food tables at invitationals.”

Crawley also wished the eighth-graders good luck next year as they become members of the high school wrestling program.
