CASSOPOLIS — Monday, four students participated in an essay contest honoring the memory and work of Martin Luther King Jr. Although the essays did not have to directly pertain to or reference King, they were to be about individuals who reflect of the legacy of his work.
The four contestants read essays they wrote about Maya Angelou, Barack Obama, Malala Yousafzai and Mae Jemison. Javier Long, Sydney Brooks, Chance Cook and Terryn Williams participated.
