NILES — Spectrum Health Lakeland welcomed several new members to their team.

First is family medicine physician, Prakash Shrestha, MD, to the medical staff. Dr. Shrestha will see patients alongside five other physicians at Lakeland Primary Care, Longmeadow, located at 4 Longmeadow Village Drive, Suite 2, in Niles. The practice is currently accepting new patients.

Shrestha has decades of primary care experience serving patients across the U.S. and throughout the globe — in places like Canada and Nepal. Before coming to Niles, Dr. Shrestha most recently worked as a staff physician in Benton Harbor. He is board-certified in family medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Shrestha speaks five languages including Spanish.

In addition, Spectrum Health Lakeland welcomed board-certified general and bariatric surgeon, Seth Miller, MD, FACS, to the medical staff. Dr. Miller will see patients alongside Michael Schuhknecht, DO, FACOS, at Lakeland General Surgery and the Lakeland Weight Loss Center, located within the Lakeland Medical Suites at 42 N. St. Joseph Ave. in Niles.

Prior to coming to Lakeland, Miller served as chief of bariatrics at Landstuhl Hospital in Germany and most recently as chief of general surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. As a member of the United States Army, he also served as chief of surgery and a trauma surgeon while deployed in Jalabad, Afghanistan.

Miller earned a doctorate of medicine degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago and completed his residency in general surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. He is specially trained in da Vinci robotic surgery and joins a team of 15 other robotic surgeons at Lakeland. Miller is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Finally, Spectrum Health Lakeland also welcomed family nurse practitioner, Tatiyana Stankovic, NP, to the medical staff. Stankovic will see patients alongside plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Ginard Henry, MD, and physician assistant Sheena Lader, PA, at Stonegate Plastic Surgery, located at 3901 Stonegate Park Suite 300 in St. Joseph.

Stankovic has experience working as both a nurse practitioner and most recently as a pediatric hospitalist at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. She earned both a master’s of science degree in nursing and a family nurse practitioner certification from Valparaiso University in Indiana. Stankovic is a member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
