Cassopolis falls to Hartford 50-44

CASSOPOLIS — Visiting Hartford outscored Cassopolis 37-18 in the second half of their Southwest 10 Conference girls basketball game to pick up a 50-44 win over the Rangers Tuesday night.
Cassopolis led throughout the first half, but it was unable to maintain the momentum in the final 16 minutes of action.
The Rangers (2-5, 2-3 Southwest 10) led 11-5 after one quarter and 26-13 at halftime.
The Indians (4-1, 4-1 Southwest 10) outscored Cassopolis 26-7 in the pivotal third quarter to take a 39-33 lead into the fourth.
The Rangers and Hartford both scored 11 points in the final eight minutes.
Angel Gary scored 16 points before fouling out, while Sophie Fiala added 12 and Kiersten Hartsell 10 points.
Mikenzie Chamber scored a game-high 22 points to lead Hartford. Megan Nelson added 13 points.
Cassopolis heads to Mendon for a Southwest 10 contest Friday night. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
