What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

DS: Winning districts against Paw Paw.

What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?

DS: Losing regionals to Benton Harbor.

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

DS: My mom, because she is currently fighting cancer and never lets it stop her.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

DS: I am most nervous when we are in clutch moments.

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

DS: When I tripped over my own foot in a game.

How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?

DS: I write out a workout before and follow as I work out.

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

DS: I’m not sure.

Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?

DS: They show you how to work in teams before you go to the real world.

How would you give away $50,000?

DS: I would donate the money to find a cure for cancer.

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

DS: I would be the coach of the Dowagiac basketball team.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

DS: Most likely work every day after school.

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

DS: Match up with guys who are bigger than me.

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

DS: I would not change any rules about my sport.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

DS: The best compliment was that I was just doing a great job.

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

DS: I cannot think of anything I did that was scary.

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

DS: I saw one of my teammates dunk. It was pretty impressive.

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

DS: My favorite hobby is to play with my friends outside of school.
