DOWAGIAC — Tickets for the 80th-annual Miss Dowagiac Scholarship Pageant will go on sale from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Round Oak Revisited.
Tracy Urbanski, pageant director, said 11 young women will vie for the title of Miss Dowagiac 2019 in the Jan. 12 pageant that will be held at the Performing Arts Center at Dowagiac Middle School. Tickets are $15 each.
Due to the popularity of the event, Urbanski said tickets are initially sold in increments of up to 10 tickets per person. Following the Dec. 6 sale, tickets will be available Monday through Thursday at the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce office, located within the train depot. Remaining tickets will then be sold at the door the night of the event.
During the Dec. 6 ticket kick-off, Round Oak Revisited is donating 15 percent of each entrée to the Miss Dowagiac Scholarship Fund. This year’s pageant will award $8,800 in educational scholarships to the Court of Honor.
As Dowagiac celebrates 80 years of pageantry, the reigning Miss Dowagiac Jadelyn Zimmerman and her Court of Honor, will crown the 2019 Court amidst a backstage of the 1930s.
This year’s contestants include: Hessen Ayers, Gracie Clark, Dianna DeLong, Emily Luthringer, Alexandria Marquart, Sydney Podemski, Emily Potter, Marissa Richey, Sofia Rosales, Juliana Stanger and Jacki Winchester-Jones
