BUCHANAN — Red Bud Trail will be closed for two weeks beginning Monday to construct a retaining wall alongside the road, according to the Berrien County Road Department.

The location of the closure is just north of Wheatberry Tavern & Restaurant, which is located at 15212 Red Bud Trail N. in Buchanan.

The road department said flooding earlier this year caused a partial collapse of the side slope, which prompted the forthcoming construction.

Traffic will be detoured on Arctic Street to N. Main Street, and then to Miller Road. Access to Wheatberry will be maintained from the south side.

Access to Riverside Estates will be maintained from the north, or residents may use Moccasin Trail.

The road department encourages drivers to plan their travel accordingly.
