Michigan Gateway Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council participated in its annual training Sunday. The group of students from Brandywine, Buchanan, Cassopolis, Dowagiac, Edwardsburg and Niles high schools, makes up a youth board that allocates grants to various local not-for-profit entities. As part of the training, YAC members participated in team building activities, such as building shapes with a rope blindfolded without speaking. They also learned about grant making, fund development and community engagement. The group meets monthly in Buchanan at the Michigan Gateway Community Foundation office.
