Greta Whitaker is a junior on the Dowagiac golf team.
What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?
GW: Schooling a 47 at Cheshire Hills.
What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?
GW: Playing my worst on an easy course.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
GW: My parents are, because they do whatever they can to help me keep going in life.
When are you the most nervous while you are competing?
GW: On the very first hole.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
GW: Tripping over your own club and almost falling.
How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?
GW: I mostly go to the range.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
GW: Volleyball.
Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?
GW: They help you make friends from other schools easier.
How would you give away $50,000?
GW: I would give it to a charity.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
GW: Probably be in clubs to occupy my time.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
GW: Focus.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
GW: Reading, because I like to kind of shut out reality for a little bit.
