Cody L. Jenkins, 34, of Decatur, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, in Dowagiac.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Burial to follow at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel in Niles. Friends may visit Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Julie Johnson or Emily Jenkins. A trust fund is being set up for Emily. Cody was born June 18, 1984, in South Bend, to Sanders Ralph and Paula (Stuckman) Jenkins. He attended Dowagiac High School. Cody worked at Midway Marina for many years, but most recently was self-employed installing piers. He was a talented, self-taught guitarist who played in several bands. Music was his passion. Cody’s main purpose was his daughter Emily whom he loved very much and enjoyed spending time with.
Cody is survived by his daughter Emily; father Sanders Ralph Jenkins, of Dowagiac; siblings, Kelly Jenkins, of South Bend, Julie (Eric) Johnson, of Porter, Indiana, and Robert (Allyson) Jenkins, of Buchanan; six nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles and many special friends that cared for him. He was preceded in death by his mother Paula Jenkins and grandparents Laveta and Paul Stuckman, Joan VanDervort and aunt Rebecca Gross.
