BENTON HARBOR — The Dowagiac golf team stepped away from Wolverine Conference play and picked up a one-stroke victory over host Michigan Lutheran Thursday.

The Chieftains shot 202, while the Titans finished with a 203.

Greta Whitaker earned medalist honors as she led Dowagiac with a round of 41.

Cassopolis volleyball

DECATUR — The Rangers went 4-0-1 to win the Decatur Invitational on Saturday.

Cassopolis split with Comstock 25-19 and 23-25 in its opening match of pool play before running the table against Bloomingdale, Comstock and Lawton.

The Rangers beat the Cardinals 25-9 and 25-14 in pool play and then 25-17 and 25-13 in the quarterfinals.

Cassopolis defeated Comstock 2-1 in the semifinals, winning 24-26, 28-26 and 15-12.

The Rangers knocked off Lawton 25-14, 21-25 and 15-8 in the championship match.
